It’s Christmas Day, and as 2025 comes to an end, it’s the perfect time to look back on your year of journeys, the memories you created and the photographs you made. I hope that your year was one of discovery, not only of new locations but of yourself. As my ideas and plans for travel in 2026 are now at the forefront, I look back at what still seems fresh.

I have been fortunate enough to remember when digital cameras did not exist. And then, I remember using one for the first time for a college project. The school owned the camera; I needed to borrow it because when I was introduced to digital photography, cameras were not exactly affordable. They were niche. I still remember that early Sony Mavica digital camera that stored 1.3MP images on a floppy disk.

It’s been over a decade since I started travelling more regularly, and Lisa has been there for almost all of it. It all started with our first trip across the Atlantic, which took us to London at the end of 2012 and Paris in early 2013. Since then, there have been dozens of destinations, events, and shows, with countless restaurants, concerts, and many others. With the accumulation of these events, we have many photos and videos to look back on.

As photographers, we constantly seek new inspiration and push to capture new photographs. We find inspiration by looking at work from other photographers, reading photography books, or watching YouTube videos. It’s easy to get caught up in getting new content as there are always travels and adventures and opportunities that you see that you would love to be part of yourself.
